Its time for a redefinition of what is right or wrong. Lets begin with an example (damn, I'm not
very good at making up examples). Ok lets take the controversial Anwar Ibrahim's case (note that
this article has nothing to do with reformasi or any political subject, I'm just bad at making up
examples). Back to the case, some says he is guilty, some says he is not guilty, some say both.
Who is to say which is right? Ok if you don't really know about that, here is another example that
which I think is more general. Robin Hood, he steals from the rich and gives it to the poor.
Stealing is wrong but he is still a hero?
What makes a thing/action right or wrong? Well I think it is not common sense. Hmmm... wait may be
it is, look at the word 'common'. What does that means? If a majority of people agreed on certain
things that are wrong, that makes it wrong. What about the minority group? Or may be it's the
government or 'the powers to be' that decide which is right or which is wrong. Some thing that
seems to be a right thing to do with someone, might be the wrong thing to someone else.
Enough of the intro, here is my view. To me there is no such thing as right or wrong. Right or
wrong just simply doesn't exist to me. There are only two sides. The side that I agreed on is the
right one and the sides that I disagreed on is the wrong one. But that is just me, other people
may not have the same agreement with me. This is just like the black and white round Chinese symbol
thing. You know, the black and white teardrops swirling together to make roundness. In the white
teardrops there is a small round of black, and in the black teardrop a small round of white. I
think its name is yin-yang or something. I'm not Chinese and I don't know what exactly that symbol
means in Chinese, but here is what I think of it. What it tells is that there are two sides of
everything. It doesn't mean good or bad, just two sides. And in both sides there is a little bit
of the other sides. The color is just to separate the both sides. There are positive and negative,
up and down, and right and wrong. That what makes the world goes round (the roundness).
So there, is what you read just now right or wrong? To me its right but to you it may not. That is
what the point of this article is. Who is to judge what is right and what is wrong? Is it you? Is
it me? The government? You know what? I really don't know. May be there is no universally right or
universally wrong. Right or wrong is just what you think of it. But then again I may be wrong.
I think I better stop. I'm getting a headache now. My mind is like on a rampage or something, my
fingers keep hitting on the keyboard and there you go. Flames, compliments send it to-
