--{ Freedom of speech - are we ready for it? }--

Hi there! I have read your article on "freedom of speech". I think we are ready for it, no question about that. By the way, can I speak freely? Okay? Well, I think the question is not whether we are ready for it. I think the question is do we understand it. I think freedom of speech does not mean freedom to condemn, insult, humiliate, etc. someone as one pleases. To me freedom of speech means to be able to express ones opinion, feelings, belief on any subject matter without attacking, insulting, inciting, humiliating, slandering any particular person because that particular person himself have the freedom of speech. We do not have to accept or agree someone's opinion, feelings, belief - we can note it, as you put it rightly. Life itself is not an exact science, therefore there is no right or wrong answer to every questions or issues. What could be right for now could grossly be wrong the next day, or even next minute! But we can debate over the issue with facts and figures to support our argument. People may agree or are convince with our reasoning, they may not. They have the freedom to think for themselves. In fact we do not only have freedom of speech, but also freedom of belief, freedom of thought, freedom of choice, freedom of the way of life, freedom of everything ... we are all born free!!

All said and done, lets re-look at what I have said. If we are all born free, why the rules, regulations, laws, the do's and don'ts lists? I think to answer that we have to travel back, way way back, ... a long, long time ago in the heavens far far away ..... ADAM! When he was created, he was alone and he was absolutely free, so free that he got bored and wish he got a partner or mate just like the other creatures. So came EVE, and there goes his absolute freedom! Along with EVE came a restriction - 'thou shall not eat that particular fruit'. So ADAM has sacrificed his absolute freedom for a companion, EVE. He has sacrificed his absolute freedom to kill his boredom (even though he was happy in heaven). Then he got greedy and wanted both... absolute freedom and companion, so he ignored the restriction and he was cast out from the heaven down to earth. When there was only one, there was absolute freedom. When there were two, limitations sets in. The more the number the more the limitations. And today, the limitations are so numerous such that your freedom to stretch your hands ends where my nose begins!

So God Al-Mighty in all HIS wisdom is the smartest, cleverest, most intelligent of all - HE chooses to be alone! No equal. No partner! So alone, HE maintains absolute freedom to do anything as HE pleases! If we can free ourselves from everything, everyone and every wants then we can have absolute freedom. The question is ARE WE READY FOR IT?!?!?!
